Locks of Love Donation November 2013

JUST realized how long it has been since I have updated my blog! EEEEk!!!! I am so much better at hair than blogging :-) hehehe. I have personally been lusting over short hair again lately, so this lil brave lady snuck into my mind... As you can see, she donated over a foot of hair to Locks of Love! Done with your long hair? Call me! Fall is such a fun time for change and hair donation is such an easy way of making someone else happy. That ponytail is doing nothing for you anyway, right?

HOMECOMING!!!! OCTOBER 2013

I felt SO old when this little cutie walked in the salon for her Homecoming updo. I just wanted her to take me with her!! And give me her amazing hair! Waterfall braids were so popular last year and she has the perfect hair for it... I hope she had a memorable evening with her best friends!!

Easy Beach Waves

It is SO HOT!!!

Here's an easy styling tip for soft waves without much heat! 

1) start by misting dry, second day hair with Oribe Foundation Mist or Bumble and Bumble Tonic- both products add moisture to the hair and re-activate any product in the hair. Mist until slightly damp, then apply Curl Shaping Mousse from Oribe throughout the length of the air. 

2) Twist the hair into ropes and heat with a diffuser before wrapping into buns. Spray the buns with hairspray before pinning them to cool. Keep in mind that smaller buns make tighter waves.  (Time saving tip- put on your makeup and eat a little breakfast while the buns cool)

3) Go back over the buns with a cool diffuser before unwrapping the buns.

4) To finish, use a small amount of Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine for piece-y separation and a mist of hairspray.

Victor Paul Salon Photoshoot~ Shiva~ September 2013

In September of 2013, we did a really fun photoshoot at Victor Paul Salon. The theme was short, red hair. Luckily, I had recently met this little beauty, Shiva who was very open to a fun change with her hair.  I love these shoots because we get the chance to be creative. Hair, makeup and wardrobe by me :)

Here we are goofing around after the shoot. I love the bags under my eyes hehehe.

Nikki's Bridal Shower Makeup ~ September 2013

My gorgeous friend Nikki looking all glowy and pretty for her casual Bridal Shower :) No filter because she is obviously gorgeous.... Her eyes just POP with those lashes! For this look, I used individual lashes with short in the center and fanning out to longer at the edge of the eye. She had a fantastic day and I felt so lucky to be the one making her feel pretty.

Ophelia~ Mother of the Bride~July 2013

Ophelia came in wanting a naturally pretty look to enhance her beautiful eyes for her son's wedding. She's a very natural beauty and we did not want to hide her behind a shield of makeup and hair. She loved her look and felt confidant at her son's big day. That warms my heart.  :)

Here she is with no filter. Filters aren't fair.
